Why Attend a Retreat?
Our lives are very busy with children, spouses, siblings,
parents, work, school, etc. As much as we try spending
quality time with the Lord it is challenging. Distractions,
excuses and good intentions all play a role in creating
stumbling blocks towards achieving this worthwhile goal.
Thirty Three years ago, our First Lady discovered retreats. In a beautiful, serene setting she discovered that you can spend quality time, studying, worshipping and praising the Lord, and enjoy it!

What Can I Expect at Mt. Hebron's Gospel Retreat?
•Beautiful
Setting
Lake Geneva has provided the perfect setting for Mt.
Hebron’s gospel retreat. Located near the shores of Lake
Geneva. Retreat participants can study outside or relax and
lounge along the shore. Away from television, radios,
newspapers and the Internet, participants enjoy
fellowshipping with one another.
•Inspirational
Morning Messages
Before
bible study we are blessed with the Word of God. Each
morning, the sermonette centers around the retreat theme.
•In-depth
Bible Studies
After the morning message, participants are
off to class. There are classes for all age groups beginning
at age 8. Classes are for ages 8 to 10, 11 and 12, 13 to 17
and adults. Included in the study materials are activities
that reinforce topics studied. Study materials may include
word finds, puzzles, pictures to color, crossword puzzles
and study questions.
•Team
Competitions
At the beginning of the retreat, youth, teens and adults are
divided into two teams. Teams work together to earn points.
Retreat participants are involved in activities such as sack
races, paddle boating, wall climbing, tug of war, leap frog,
etc Points are awarded in each event. The grand finale
involves teams vying for points in a Bible Quiz Face Off.
This activity is similar to jeopardy. Each contestant is
asked a questions from our Bible studies. Points are tallied
from all activities including our Bible Face Off. There are
no losers or winners. However, the team that has the most
points are first to select a prize from the prize table.
•Praise
and Worship
In the early evening, we offer song and
praise to the Lord. The youth leads this service and it is
concluded with the adult choir.
•Theater
Night
Bible lessons come to life. Retreaters reenact bible lessons
using today’s language, culture and add their own
interpretations. Not only is this a very entertaining
experience, it, too, reinforces what is learned at the
retreat.
