Minister James Walker

Personal Beliefs:

Salvation is for all men and women who accept Jesus the Christ as Lord and Savior, knowing that we must go into the “highways and hedges” and urge people to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Calling/Education/Accomplishments:

Minister James Walker accepted the call to preach the Gospel in 1991 and was ordained in 1994. He served as the Assistant Pastor of the Church of the Living God in Decatur, IL under the leadership of the late Bishop E. A. Morgan. In 1997 he accepted a pastorship in Litchfield, IL until 1999 when the church was merged with another congregation in Springfield, IL. In 2003 he was appointed Pastor of the Church of the Living God in Chicago, IL until 2008.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, Rev. Walker retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 2000 after 31 years of employment. His experience as Inventory Control Manager managing over a million dollars of parts inventory and overseeing a staff of 30 people enhanced his managerial abilities and has served him well in his relationship with God’s people.

Minister Walker has attended Bradley University, Lincoln Christian College & Seminary, Moody Bible Institute, and McCormick Theological Seminary as well as taken correspondence courses from Andersonville Theological Seminary.

Favorite Verse: 2 Corinthians 4:5 -7:

Isaiah 40:31 – “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, they shall walk, and not faint.”

Personal Testimony:

Standing on the Word of God has helped me through life’s ups and downs and highs and lows. I’ve learned that you will not always live on the “mountaintop” but will have your “valley” experiences. Always know that God will see you through if you put your trust and faith in Him.

Married to Victoria L. Walker, Lady Victoria's Page
